Frequently asked questions
Commission & Requests
We work in very limited series; we do not enjoy repeating work and like to retain our artistic freedom. All our pieces can be found on our online shop, which is updated on a regular basis. We recommend subscribing to our newsletter to be kept informed.
The only product in our line-up that we customize is the name plate. Please visit our Nameplates page to know more.
We have developed our own style and prefer to work within our aesthetics. We respect and value the creations of others and do not copy anyone’s hard work.
The colours you see in our shop are the only ones we work with currently.
Unfortunately no. We only sell from our online shop. If you would like first dibs on a particular item, the best is to subscribe to our newsletter to receive announcements regarding shop updates.
Pottery & Process
All our pots are made in red earthenware clay. We use our own glazes and pigment mix to decorate them. The pots are fired at earthenware temperature in our electric kiln.
All our pieces are food and drink safe. Our ramequins and baking dishes are oven-proof (standard kitchen ovens up to 220 degrees Celsius). Microwaves will weaken the strength of earthenware ceramics over time. Although it is fine to use microwaves every once in a while, they should be avoided on a regular basis. Dishwashers are too harsh on handmade pottery, so please wash your pots by hand and make sure they are fully dry before putting them away.
Our pots are made in earthenware clay, which requires a little more TLC than other types of ceramics such as stoneware. Chipping and cracking mostly happen while washing and drying your pots, so here are a few tips to prevent knocks and shocks. Avoid putting your pottery in piles of dishes in the sink and in the drying rack/basket as those are prone to collapse or rock about. If the drying rack or basket is full, place a towel on a kitchen top and dry the pots upside down. Or, if you can, dry the pots by hand with a towel after washing.
Shop
Unfortunately, we no longer ship internationally.
A few shops keep our pottery including The Shop (Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bangalore), Le Mill (Mumbai), Paper Boat (Goa and Bangalore), OED Elements (Kochi), Curate Home (Dubai), Lanos (Singapore).
We update our shop when we are ready to bring you a sufficient number of new pieces, and we aim to do so every few months. To keep informed about our shop updates, we recommend signing up for our newsletter.
Teaching & studio
We do not teach beginners, but we offer an advanced pottery programme of two months for participants who know the basics of clay work. It usually happens in May-June. Please visit our Teaching page to know more.
We only offer a two-month programme for advanced students as we prefer to go more in-depth in terms of skills and creative practice. Please visit our Teaching page to know more.
